01 / The professional story
Five chapters.
One operating thread.
The public record begins with entrepreneurship, then moves through four kinds of consumer marketplace. Each chapter says how much the opened evidence can actually support.
012015
The first signal
PitchBorneo: an idea enters the arena
The earliest independently attributable entrepreneurial record names Ian Goh Ee An among PitchBorneo's 2015 winners for a laser-tag proposal. It is a small public marker, but a useful one: the professional record begins with testing an idea in front of a market.
022017—18
The marketplace
oBike: moving from launch to APAC expansion
A contemporary university partnership record identifies Ian as oBike Malaysia's business development manager. Later independent coverage says he spent close to two years at oBike and ultimately headed APAC business strategy and development.
032018—20
The operating system
OYO: building demand, supply, and partnerships
Marketing-Interactive documented Ian as OYO Malaysia's head of growth marketing and partnerships, responsible for work across demand, revenue, hotel supply, acquisition, and brand collaboration. In his own departure note, he described helping launch OYO Malaysia over roughly two and a half years.
042020—23
The creator platform
Tiki: building for India's creator economy
Independent reporting later identified Ian as Tiki's co-founder and CEO. Tiki's scale figures remain self-reported or company-supplied. Its ultimate ownership also became a documented professional dispute: reporting identified links to BIGO and Joyy, while Ian publicly said the company had zero investment from China. The opened record establishes the dispute and response—not ultimate beneficial ownership.
052020—now
The regional chapter
BIGO: growth across Southeast Asia and MENA
Ian currently presents his role as Director, Strategic Growth across Southeast Asia and the Middle East. Independent event and press records identify him as a BIGO director and, in 2025, Director of the MENA region. BIGO's $500 million Saudi programme is a company-announced five-year plan, not evidence that the full investment has been completed.
03 / Where the record stands now
Regional growth,
close to the work.
Current public recordUpdated July 2026
Director, Strategic Growth
BIGO Technology · Southeast Asia & Middle East
The exact Strategic Growth title and present-tense scope are self-reported. Independent event and press records confirm that Ian has been publicly identified as a BIGO director, including regional MENA coverage through 2025.
05 / Sources & confidence
Read the record, not the résumé.
Public professional sources only. First-person, employer, and company claims stay visibly qualified until independent evidence supports them.
ConfirmedOpened independent source or authoritative record.
Self-reportedSupported only by Ian, an employer, or an interested party.
Company-announcedA stated organisational plan, not proof of completion.
Disputed / unresolvedCredible reporting and a response exist, but the underlying issue is not established.
